The Flarns

A long time ago... between 4 & 5 pm Pacific Time, the focus of capper research was Babylon 5, the long-running science fiction action-adventure series. Capper Alex Gariepy bestowed a daily award, The Flarn, for a day's best data. Only he knew the criteria. Incidentally, Flarn is a food popular among the Minbari people, a race in the Babylon 5 universe.

It didn't stop at The Flarn. Anyone winning five Flarns was awarded a Spoo (a food of the Narn, another alien race). At the conclusion of the series' second season during its initial Sci-Fi Channel run (2000), The Keffer was awarded to the cappers with the most Flarns.
