March 6, 2024- In a surprise move, the Maharashtra state government has granted approval for a 'pod taxi' project in Mumbai. An 8.8 km, 38 station route would link two rail stations in the upscale Bandra-Kurla Complex. The BKC is one of a number of business/residential districts which were created to take growth pressure off Mumbai's central business district. Aside from an estimated cost of $123 million and a 5,000 sq. m. 'depot,' no other project details are known.
